T5 MI, a compact version of the tactical M7, the legendary knife from the Italian LionSteel manufacture. The goal was to create a handier, easier to carry, but still reliable large blade tool for any field application. Also aimed at bushcraft, survival and hunting enthusiasts. Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known, respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (aka Molletta) is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experiments in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in the design of knives.
Niolox - tool steel with good edge grip and high strength. Hardened in the range of 58-63 HRC. It is characterized by an aggressive cut and good toughness. The name comes from the element niobium (Nb), one of the best cemented carbides that contributes to the wear resistance of the steel. Niolox contains 0.7% of it. Easy to sharpen with moderate corrosion resistance, contains 8.5% chromium. Manufactured by the German Lohmann steel plant.
Blade - massive Drop Point with a clearly marked belly. The satin smooth blade (Plain type) was made with flat cut (Flat Grind) provides strength and the tapering of the blade towards the point of the point reduces the weight by improving the geometry of the cutting edge. Upper jimping on the back of the blade, notched thumb rest for better control of the knife
Handle - made in Solid® technology, obtained from a unique block (one piece) of waterproof Micarty Black. As a result, a monolithic skeleton (body) of the highest strength was obtained, which is a strong, solid structural element. The grip linings were 4D machined, obtaining a non-slip texture with excellent adhesion. The enlarged protrusion acts as a handguard, preventing the hand from slipping onto the blade. Lanyard hole mandrel, cable hole, can also be used as a hammer.
Sheath- extended, protecting the blade with a part of the handle. Hand-sewn, made of natural black leather with an embossed manufacturer's logo. The edges of the holster are sewn with a double decorative seam. Fastened with a Prym type snap. Fastening to a belt or equipment allows you to carry the knife in a vertical position.
