MAC Apnea 9 Diving Knife, Mirror W 1.4060 (MC APN09)

APNEA9 ultralight 85g, compact diver's knife for spearfishing and scuba diving. Suitable for underwater hunting, diving and freediving. The 7 cm blade is long enough to easily cut anything you need underwater. The blade also features a shaft removal tool. 1.4060 (MA5 / X35Cr16N) - martensitic stainless steel with high hardness. A conventional stainless steel, MA5 steel (X35Cr16N standard AFNOR / 1.4060 standard Wnr) is similar to X46Cr13 steel. Its main advantage is that it offers excellent corrosion resistance, as well as better hardness after heat treatment. Hardness and strength are characteristics of the universal grade. Heat treatment of MA5 / X35Cr16N / 1.4060 steel allows it to achieve high hardness (up to 60 HRC), while being resistant to aggressive marine environments.

Regular maintenance of 1.4060 stainless steel (MA5 / X35Cr16N) prevents the formation of deposits and maintains its luster. It also facilitates the removal of spots and tarnishes. Cleaning should be done before there is a visible layer of dirt or fingerprints, so the danger of permanent discoloration of the steel surface is minimized. For cleaning, do not use agents that contain: chlorine, salt, acids and bleach.

Blade - Dagger type, both sides with excellent cutting properties were derived with Flat Grind. One of the blades fully smooth Plain, the other serrated Serrated ending on the side of the tip with a few millimeters of smooth blade. Serrated (serrated) blade used in diving, rescue and survival knives. The unique blade consists of alternating one large and three small teeth, the so-called three-step. This pattern increases the length of the cutting edge by up to 24% compared to a straight blade. Ideal for aggressive cutting of hard materials, plastics and fibrous materials such as ropes and nets. The profiled cutout in the wedge can be used to undermine nails or screws underwater. The blade is finished with a polished finish.

The handle - an extension of the blade, in silver. For a better grip, the edges have been cut and the throat area has been covered with jimping. The steel hilt and ergonomic shape of the liners prevent the hand from slipping while working on the blade.

Sheath - made of hard PP polymer with holes for drainage of water, moisture. The holster is equipped with a latch to prevent the knife from slipping out in water. The sheath comes with two rubber straps and 2 plastic buckles that allow you to attach the case to your arm, leg or to a vest.
