CPM 20CV - one of the best tool steels, American premium martensitic stainless steel. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide improved wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler's M390 steel or Carpenter's CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% carbon (C), 20.0% chromium (Cr), 4.0% vanadium (V), 1.0% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.6% tungsten (W). The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.
Blade - modified tanto. It opens with a double-sided peg in the wedge, so it can be easily used by right- and left-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. For ease of sharpening, the beginning of the cutting edge starts with a small choil. A mixed grind was used in this case, in the rear part there is a high, concave grind for cutting and precision work, the so-called Hollow Ground Primary Bevel. In the front part we have a high Flat Ground reinforcing tip grind. To improve piercing capabilities, an unsharpened false blade was brought out in the upper part. The blade has been finished with an elegant Satin finish. The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - on the representative side a thick piece of Shredded Carbon Fiber, on the lock side solid titanium. The liners are screwed to an intricately machined titanium backspacer, giving assurance of many years of use. As with other EC models, the pivot axis is adorned with a stylized manufacturer's logo. A right-handed, single-position titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up (tip up) position. On the back of the handle a lanyard hole, hidden in the backspacer, a place for a decorative or security cord.
Case - the knife is packed in a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
