38,40 €This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Torpedo 11 Yellow PP+TPE, Black Idroglider is a compact fixed-blade backup diving knife manufactured by the Italian company MAC Coltellerie. The model is designed for attachment to diving equipment as a secondary safety tool for quick underwater use. The blade is coated with a black matte Idroglider Gold® Black finish, which reduces light reflections and increases protection of the blade surface. The PP+TPE handle offers low weight, moisture resistance, and a secure grip in a wet hand or diving glove. Thanks to its compact construction, the Torpedo 11 is an essential piece of equipment for any diving trip especially as a backup knife for quickly cutting lines, straps, or other underwater obstacles.
1.4060 (MA5 / X35Cr16N) is a martensitic nitrogen stainless steel with high hardness and very good corrosion resistance. This grade is similar to X46Cr13 steel, but thanks to the addition of nitrogen it offers a favorable combination of hardness, strength, and corrosion resistance. After proper heat treatment, MA5 / X35Cr16N / 1.4060 steel can reach a hardness of up to approximately 60 HRC, while maintaining high resistance to moisture and marine environments.
Regular maintenance of 1.4060 stainless steel (MA5 / X35Cr16N) prevents the formation of deposits and maintains its luster. It also facilitates the removal of spots and tarnishes. Cleaning should be done before there is a visible layer of dirt or fingerprints, so the danger of permanent discoloration of the steel surface is minimized. For cleaning, do not use agents that contain: chlorine, salt, acids and bleach.
Blade - dagger-type, double-edged, with very good cutting performance, finished with a flat grind. One cutting edge is fully plain, while the other is fully serrated, with a short plain section near the tip. The unique serrated edge consists alternately of one large tooth and three smaller teeth, forming the so-called three-step pattern. This geometry increases the cutting edge length by up to 24% compared to a plain edge. This solution performs particularly well when aggressively cutting hard materials, plastics, and fibrous materials such as ropes or nets. The blade is coated with a scratch-resistant, non-reflective Idroglider Gold® Black finish.
Handle - yellow, equipped with anti-slip, textured scales with rubber-like properties. They are made of thermoplastic elastomer TPE combined with PP polymer, providing a secure grip in aquatic environments, even with a wet hand or diving glove. The ergonomic shape of the scales helps prevent the hand from slipping during use. A lanyard hole is located at the rear of the handle for attaching a safety cord, while the steel pommel can be used as a hammer.
Sheath - made of durable, hard PP polymer, with drainage holes for removing water and moisture. The sheath features a safety snap lock that prevents the knife from accidentally slipping out during diving. The sheath comes with two rubber straps and two plastic buckles, allowing it to be attached to the arm, leg, or diving vest.
