This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Karahawk G-10 All Black Plain - the highly-advanced Spyderco folder showed how much evolved the traditional karambit knives originating from Southeast Asia. Hawkbill blade coated with TiCN coating, two opening blade systems Emerson Opener hook and SpyderHole cutout, Tip-Up clip.
Karambit knife type, which was born in Indonesia, roots reaching Malaysia and the Philippines - documented its use as early as the 11th century. It is characterized by an inverted handle with a hole for the index finger. The rounded shape of the blade is characterized by a great efficiency of cutting - the blade imitates the way the tiger claws - piercing and cutting. Used as a work knife, martial arts knife and defense knife, if this is necessary.
Emerson Wave (Emerson Wave) - Karambit has Ernest Emerson's patented hook placed on the top of the blade holder enabling automatic and very quick opening of the blade when removing the knife from the trouser pocket by attaching the hook to the edge of the pocket.
Blade - with an aggressive shape, 2.5 mm thickness and Hawkbill profile. Made of highly resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage of VG-10 stainless steel tool steel, characterized by good focus. The blade is hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. The blade was covered with a scratch resistant, matte, non-reflective TiCN coating (Non-Reflective Titanium Carbonitride). Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with high flat cut (Saber Grind). The flat blade with a slightly curved cutting edge guarantees an impressive cutting force. Hawkbill imitates the way the eagle's claws, piercing and cutting. The SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent) has increased the thumb support (ramp), which places the thumb directly above the hole, allowing the knife to be opened quickly in the glove as well as with wet, sweaty hands. Reinforced blade blockade: Back-Lock type with additional protection against accidental release of the lock during a strong knife grip (notch in the blockade) of David Boye's project.
Handle - covered with non-slip textured pads made of G-10 material (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures, chemicals). The metal clip fastened with torx screws allows you to carry the knife in the tip-up position. The end of the handle is finished with a rounded, polished ring-shaped head that allows traditional techniques to be cut with a knife, making it easy to rotate the knife around the finger in the head opening. Inside the ring, a reinforcing anti-slip insert for increased cutting speed, made of G-10.
