K390 MICROCLEAN® - is a true “supersteel” for those who can't stand frequent sharpening. Thanks to powder technology and a huge vanadium content, it offers extreme hardness and legendary cutting aggression that is hard to find in ordinary knives. It's made for the toughest tasks, although as a tool steel it requires a bit of attention - over time it will be covered with a noble patina, which will only emphasize its working character. The composition includes Carbon (2.47%), Chromium (4.13%), Vanadium (9.00%), Molybdenum (3.75%), Cobalt (2.00%), Tungsten (1.00%). Manufactured at the Böhler-Uddeholm smelter in Austria.
Blade - with Drop Point profile, 3 mm thick. Made of Japanese stainless steel K390 (high resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage), hardened to 59-61 HRC. Plain blade has a Full Flat Grind. This grind reduces the weight of the knife and improves cutting performance. Round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows opening the folder also in a glove. Solid Back-Lock with additional Boye Detent notch, preventing accidental release of the head lock when the knife is firmly gripped. The notched thumb ramp and Finger Choil, a contoured index finger rest between the handle and the cutting edge, make it easy to control the knife.
Handle - blue color. Covered with non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing (Bi-Directional Texturing) reinforces the grip even with wet hands. Facings made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon). Folder is equipped with a solid metal clip with 4-way clip positions (up/down, right/left).
