Targeted at bushcraft, survival, hunting enthusiasts. A knife that will serve you for years to come!
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC. Another of its advantages is its resistance to "wire" formation during sharpening. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - massive Drop Point shape and 4 mm thick with a clearly marked belly of the cutting edge. The satin-smooth Plain blade brought out with a Full Flat Grind provides strength and the tapering of the blade towards the hilt reduces weight improving the geometry of the cutting edge.
Handle - covered with non-slip, textured facings made of green Canvas Micarta laminate, screwed directly to the blank. The profiled rounded shape of the covers eliminates sharp edges, provides a comfortable, secure grip. Enlarged protrusion acts as a gut protecting the hand from slipping on the blade. Attached with Torx T8 stainless steel screws, the facings can be removed to make the knife into an improvised spear. Slightly protruding beyond the handle, the tango fragments can be used to light a fire with a flint. In the back of the lanyard hole facings, a hole for a rope.
Sheath - extended, protects the blade along with part of the handle. Fastened with a Prym-type snap secures the knife well against falling out. Hand-sewn, made of fleshy natural leather in brown color with embossed manufacturer's name. The edges of the holster for reinforcement were stitched with double decorative stitching. Mounting has been adapted to carry the holster on a belt or on a mount in multiple positions by means of two leather straps. Compatible with the MOLLE standard, it allows the load-carrier to be attached under the straps of the M.O.L.L.E. (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) system.
