Steel
8Cr13MoV - easy to sharpen stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. High content of 13.0% chromium and average 0.8% carbon provide excellent corrosion resistance. The presence of 1.0% silicon, 0.3% molybdenum increase the steel strength and wear resistance. 8Cr13MoV has a high hardness in the range of 57-59 HRC.
Blade
Thickness 3.1 mm with Leaf Shaped profile provides excellent cutting edge geometry with low friction. The cutting edge is Full Flat Grind. Plain type blade extends along the entire length of the blade allowing for powerful cuts with the heel of the blade. The blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel that holds sharpness well. Careful placement of the enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) on the blade positions the hand in the right place for intuitive opening of the blade, while also increasing the hump for spine jimping thumb support.
Handle
Bi-Directional Textured (Bi-Directional Texturing) non-slip facings strengthen the grip. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) plastic. Solid metal screw-on hourglass clip with 4-way clip positions (up/down, right/left). In the back of the handle lanyard hole, a hole for pulling a safety cable.
