The cap increases visibility in poor lighting conditions (night, dusk, fog). Excellent as a traffic control tool. The overlay together with the flashlight create a "glowing baton" that is visible from a distance and does not glaring the observer's eyes. It is also recommended for uniformed services.
The diffuser will prove especially useful indoors, when reading a map, and wherever soft, non-fatiguing light is needed.
