8Cr13MoV - an easy-to-sharpen stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. A high content of 13.0% chromium (Cr) and an average of 0.8% carbon (C) provide excellent corrosion resistance, while the addition of the alloying elements molybdenum 0.30% (Mo), vanadium 0.25% (V) and nickel 0.20% (Ni) increase the steel's strength and wear resistance. 8Cr13MoV has a high hardness in the 57-62 HRC range.
Blade - 2.5 mm thick with Leaf-Shaped profile (leaf shape). Plain blade was derived with Full Flat Grind (Full Flat Grind). The flat grind guarantees perfect geometry of the cutting edge with a sharp tip, reduces the weight of the knife and presents a beautiful satin finish. The SpyderHole circular cutout (Spyderco patent) has increased ramp support hump, which positions the thumb directly over the opening making it easier to quickly open the blade with cold or wet hands. Notched supports: the thumb ramp (spine jimping) and (finger choil jimping), an index finger undercut between the handle and the cutting edge make it easier to control the knife. Handle - solid stainless steel (stainless steel) liners finished with Satin Finish (semi-matte) coating. Twisted design ensures precise fit of all components for maximum effectiveness.
