Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known, respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
CPM 3V is a high hardness, wear-resistant tool steel made using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. It is designed to provide maximum fracture and chipping resistance in high wear-resistant steel. It offers impact resistance greater than A2, D2, Cru-Wear or CPM M4, approaching the levels provided by S7 and other impact-resistant grades. CPM 3V is hardened to 58/60 HRC for applications where chronic cracking and chipping is found in other tool steels, but where the abrasive properties of high-alloy steel are required.
Blade - an extremely sharp Drop Point with a well-defined belly. Plain blade was derived with a Flat Grind, which looks great with an elegant Satin finish. The 5.5 mm thickness of the blade ensures high durability for all sorts of work we will be doing with it. Finger choil, an undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge, makes it easier to control the knife.
Handle - in Solid® Knife technology, obtained from a monobloc (one piece) of waterproof micarta (canvas pressed under pressure with synthetic resin) processed on a four-axis CNC numerical machine. This yielded a lightweight, monolithic skeleton (body) of the highest strength, which is a strong, solid structural element. The grip facings were also CNC-machined, obtaining a non-slip texture. At the bottom of the handle, a protrusion / hilt, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade while working. Flat shank helpful for lighting a fire with a flint, emergency can be used as a hammer or glass breaker and with a lanyard hole, a hole for a rope.
Sheath - made of kydex plastic combined with abrasion-resistant, waterproof Cordura in black. It protects against falling out and facilitates quick retrieval of the knife. Fastened with a snap lock secures the knife from falling out. Compatible with the MOLLE standard, it allows the holster to be attached under the straps of the M.O.L.L.E. (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) system, or carried on a belt or on your equipment.
