Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known, respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
Sleipner - a versatile high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance with a balanced alloy composition: chromium content of 7.8% (Cr), 0.9% carbon (C), molybdenum 2.5% (Mo) and vanadium 0.5% (V). It achieves a high hardness of 60-62 HRC. Manufactured at the Swedish Uddeholm steel mill.
Blade - extremely sharp with Drop Point shape, ideal for all kinds of woodworking. Covered with a Stonewashed finish masking minor scratches. Plain blade is led out with Flat Grind, high grind guarantees excellent cutting properties. The enlarged protrusion acts as a hilt protecting the hand from slipping on the blade.
Handle - made of G10 plastic, fiberglass compressed with synthetic resin. Milled with a non-slip texture for excellent grip and a secure hold. Flat shank with lanyard hole, a hole for a rope, helpful for lighting a fire with a flint, can also serve as a hammer.
Sheath - extended, protects the blade along with part of the handle. Hand-stitched, made of natural brown leather with embossed manufacturer's logo. The edges of the holster were stitched with decorative thread. Fastened with a Prym type snap. Belt attachment allows carrying the knife in an upright position.
