N690 - cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C) martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the 58-61 HRC range. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Blade - Drop Point type with an elegant Satin finish. The curved cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Phosphor bronze washers are responsible for the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, allowing the knife to be opened with a long thumb notch ideal for both right and left-handers. A novelty is the Detachable Thumb Stud, an opening pin that we can unscrew if we want to use the knife in countries where one-handed folding knives are prohibited. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert that prevents the lock face from rubbing off.

Handle - the display side is Carbon Fiber, a composite of pressure-pressed carbon fiber with synthetic resin. The lock side is solid titanium 6AL4V. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfort and improve grip security. A large pivot screw is characteristic of Jacob's designs. The open-backed design, so called, fastened together with steel spacer sleeves, reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. Simple, solid construction gives you the assurance of many years of use. A single-position, right-handed deep-carry clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward. The pivot and screws in blue elegantly accentuate the black of the Carbon.
