Böhler K110 - equivalent to D2 steel, a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 59-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge retention and easy sharpening. It is characterised by high wear resistance due to its high carbide content in the microstructure. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl.
Blade - Reverse Tanto type, coated with a black protective coating. The straight cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. To improve piercing capabilities, an unsharpened false blade is brought out at the top. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. The knife can also be opened by means of a hole in the blade (thumb hole) or a peg in the blade (thumb stud). The entire blade is locked with a solid button lock. A spring is fitted under the lock button, providing sufficient resistance to prevent accidental opening.
Handle - black dyed aluminium. Contouring of the covers eliminates sharp edges. The grips are joined together using an integral FRN plastic backspacer. The textured surface improves grip. The simplicity and robustness of the construction offer the assurance of many years of use. The two-position (right/left) clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up position. The clip's fastening screw is also a glass breaker. Pivot axis decorated with stylised manufacturer's logo.
