Manticore X Predator Tanto Black Aluminum / Black HW/Clip, Black DLC is the latest and greatest OTF automatic knife in the Manticore range. This knife is 100% made and assembled in the USA. Silky smooth one-handed unfolding and folding are key features of our Manticore. The X features an integrated lanyard hole and hardened steel glass breaker, as well as a double-sided deep carry clip. And on the Handle, the laser sight familiar from the movie 'Predator' is recognisable to all movie lovers!
CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel produced using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional' steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut has succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is currently no other steel on the world market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' US steel mills.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings combining extreme properties: low coefficient of friction, high hardness and corrosion resistance. DLC coatings are the perfect solution wherever wear resistance and good sliding properties are required.
Blade - Tanto Edge type finished with a scratch-masking Stonewashed finish. Surface durability is enhanced by the black matt DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) nanocomposite coating. The Plain blade, is derived with a high Flat Grind for excellent cutting properties. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining its strength. The mechanism of extending/retracting the blade by means of a slider into a characteristic step, requiring for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right and left-handed people.
Handle - made on CNC milling machines with excellent precision, from black DLC-coated 6061-T6 aluminium. The texture of the Handle ensures that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. The slim design allows the knife to be tucked into any pocket. A solid two-position (right/left) deep carry clip allows the knife to be carried in a tip-down position. The Handle is finished with a glass breaker with integrated lanyard hole.
The red laser sight symbol from the film "Predator" contrasts beautifully with the uniform black of the knife.
