A folder with a wide blade made of excellent K390 tool steel with a completely flat grind and very lightweight FRN construction. The perfect companion for everyday expeditions!
K390 Microclean® - the highest quality modern tool steel. Manufactured using powder metallurgy technology with extremely high corrosion and abrasion resistance. High-chromium steel with 20.0% chromium (Cr) and 4.0% vanadium (V) doping. Hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. The steel has undergone vacuum and cryogenic treatments and double tempering. Manufactured at the Böhler-Uddeholm steelworks in Austria.
Blade - with Leaf (leaf) profile with an extremely sharp tip. The full-length curved cutting edge provides exceptional cutting performance with full force, transferring power to the blade tip, guarantees better point strength. Made from VG-10 Japanese stainless steel, hardened between 59-61 HRC, the Plain blade is derived with a Full Flat Grind. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout allows the blade to be opened even with a glove. A ramp on the back of the Blade positions the thumb, giving solid support and making it easier to operate the folder. Solid Blade Back-Lock.
Handle - in blue color, reserved for this type of blade steel. Bi-directional textured non-slip grips (Bi-Directional Texturing) along with notched notches on the back of the handle (Spine Jimping) strengthen the grip. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. Sturdy metal hourglass clip with 4-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. Lanyard hole for attaching a safety line.
Backbone - is reinforced by skeletonized stainless steel inserts with cut-out holes to which the Handle grips are attached. This provides high strength with low weight of the knife. The whole thing was bolted together with torx screws. Phosphor bronze washers facilitate opening and closing.
