K390 Microclean® - the highest quality modern tool steel. Manufactured using powder metallurgy technology with extremely high corrosion and abrasion resistance. High-chromium steel with a chromium (Cr) content of 20.0% and vanadium (V) content of 4.0%. Hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. The steel has undergone vacuum and cryogenic treatments and double tempering. Manufactured at the Böhler-Uddeholm steel mills in Austria.
Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) Blade locking mechanism patented by Spyderco. Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the Handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding Blade.
Blade - with Leaf-Shaped profile, 4 mm thick. Plain blade was derived with Full Flat Grind. The flat grind guarantees perfect geometry of the cutting edge with a sharp tip, reduces the weight of the knife and presents a beautiful satin finish. Notched thumb rest (ramp) for efficient folder handling. Enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows easy opening of Blade with gloved as well as wet, sweaty hands.
Handle - anatomically profiled, textured, non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing grips strengthen the grip, even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. Open-backed design fixed with steel spacer sleeves reduces weight and makes cleaning easier. Metal hourglass clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the Handle lanyard hole, a hole for a line.
