CPM S35VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes the steel about 15-20% harder than S30V without sacrificing wear resistance, and it is also easier to machine and polish. The improved strength of CPM S35VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Blade - wide, Wharncliffe type finished in a striking Two Tone method, satin-finished bevels, the rest of the blade finished with Stonewash. The straight cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. A mixed grind is used here, in the front part is a high, concave grind for cutting and precision work, the so-called Hollow Ground Primary Bevel. In the back, we have a high Flat Ground grind for heavier work. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. We can also open the knife using a hole in the wedge (thumb hole). The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - made of 6AL4V titanium, artful carbon fiber inserts add an exclusive touch, contrasting beautifully with the cool titanium. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfort and improve grip security. The solid titanium backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. The pivot axis decorated with a designer screw. Single-position, right-handed titanium clip allows carrying the knife in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upwards.
Case - the knife is packed in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the brand's logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
