D2 - a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 58-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade - Hawkbill type blade spectacularly aged with Apocalyptic finish. Despite its thickness, the Flat Grind provides excellent cutting properties combined with excellent durability. The wedge bears the Microtech company logo, as well as the serial number and production date. On the back of the blade a notch (jimping) for the finger.
Handle - an extension of the D2 steel wedge. On the back and bottom of the Handle notches (jimping) which strengthen the certainty of the grip and control over the knife while working. The contoured shape provides a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. A large "finger ring" in the back prevents the knife from falling out of your hand, and also allows you to take a break without putting the knife down.
Sheath - made of kydex, provides a secure hold on the knife in any position. A metal clip attached to the sheath allows the knife to be carried vertically or horizontally.
