CPM MagnaCut powder stainless steel produced by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more "conventional" steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This exceptional steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' American steel mills.
Blade - with Leaf-Shaped profile (leaf shape) provides a long, gently curved cutting edge. The Plain smooth blade is derived with a Full Flat Grind. Enlarged 14mm SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) for ambidextrous thumb opening. Notched thumb ramp jimping (thumb rest) on the back of the blade and ForeFinger Choil (index finger undercut between the Handle and the cutting edge) make the knife easier to operate. The refined, precision-machined Blade Back-Lock mechanism guarantees the peak of precision and improved smoothness of operation.
Handle - full-length wraps in yellow color characteristic of the Salt line. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon, it features bi-directional non-slip textured grips (Bi-Directional Texturing) for excellent grip with gloves as well as greasy or wet hands. Sturdy titanium clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. Notched notch on the Spine Jimping Handle increases comfort and grip security. In the back of the grips a lanyard hole, a hole for a lanyard or cord.
