Denis Simonutti, born in 1986 in Maniago, is an Italian designer and knifemaker from Friuli. He has been active in the knife industry since 2010 and is known as the inventor of the Fingers Safe Opening System locking system. His passions are mountaineering and photography, which he combines with his design skills to create knives with unique design and functionality. He works with the Fox brand for which he designed the "The Claw" series of Karambit knives, combining oriental style with practical use.

M390 - martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of "wire" during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Fingers Safe Opening System - the blade opens by gently pressing a button and then sliding it into a milled half circle. The blade is closed by sliding the button in the opposite direction. Thanks to the design, our fingers will never get in the way of the blade. The locking mechanism is operated by a slider located within reach of the thumb on the side of the knife's handle.

Blade - Sheepsfoot type blade, acid-etched and then bathed in fine Stonewashed pebbles. The knife is opened with a peg in the Handle sliding in a milled half circle. The solid thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The entire blade is locked with the intuitive Fingers Safe Opening System lock.

Handle - is thick pieces of glazed titanium 6AL4V, beautifully milled using CNC machine tools. On both sides there is an inlay (insert) made of Jungle Wear Fatcarbon. A massive sandblasted titanium backspacer gives the whole structure the desired stiffness. The simplicity and solidity of the construction give assurance of many years of use. The single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. Above the clip a lanyard hole, a hole for threading a decorative or security cord.
