The Glauca G1 Mud Aluminum, Black is an evolution of the basic Glauca model, which was designed specifically for the GSG9, the Bundespolizei special unit officially adopted for use by the unit. The Handle is made of anodized aluminum, and features a tungsten carbide glass nailer on the head and a double-sided clip that can be adjusted to three different positions. On the back is a stainless steel marlin skewer that can be locked in the open position, and a folding rescue tool that allows the operator to make a quick emergency cut to free the injured from their clothing. The latter tool also works well as a belt cutter.
N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - solid in classic Clip Point shape, provides above-average cutting and penetrating properties. The blade is coated with a non-reflective matte MIL-C-13924 BURNISHING coating. The blade is derived with a Full Flat grind which provides strength, excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Blade double locking system: solid Liner-Lock mechanism supported by an additional locking mechanism. The steel hilt when the blade is folded, acting like a Flipper or like an Emerson hook, is complemented by a Thumb Stud, creating a triple quick-open system for the knife.
Handle - full-size , similar to assault knives. Grips made of anodized aluminum are finished with non-slip texturing, which guarantees a secure grip. The open-backed design simplifies cleaning and maintenance. A three-position clip allows you to carry the knife in tip-up / tip-down position with the tip down or up. The folder head is finished with a tungsten carbide glass striking pin, on the back of the Handle a system for safely cutting belts or disposable handcuffs, and a marlin spike, helpful for untangling ropes or netting.
