CPM S35VN - American martensitic stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it consists of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to machine and polish. The improved CPM strength of S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process produces a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade- Drop Point type with striking Two Tone finish, Blade finished with Bead Blasted glaze, the rest satin finish. The long cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. A section of the blade's back is covered with an upper jimping, notched thumb rest for easy control of the knife. The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - is two pieces of solid 6AL4V titanium with striking texture, with Black Carbon Fiber inserts. The chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfort, and the fore finger groove improves grip security. The titanium backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. The protruding section of the backspacer can be used as an improvised glass breaker and also contains holes through which a decorative cord can be threaded. A single-position, right-handed titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward.
Case - the knife is packed in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the brand's logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
