CPM S45VN - an American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy/ Crucible® Particle Metallurgy(CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. The improved strength of CPM S45VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
The powerful Marauder-H T/E (Tanto Edge) Bronze Titanium, Bronze HW/Clip, Black DLC blade, has been coated with black DLC, hand laid concave grinds give excellent cutting properties combined with high strength. The striking Fuller-groove embossing increases durability, using them to open the knife. For increased insensitivity to contamination, phosphor bronze washers are used, making the pivot axis more resistant to field work. A powerful titanium frame lock bar secures the knife from folding, unfolded and secured the knife is as solid as an armored cash register.
The titanium Handle has been anodized bronze, similar to the screws and clip. A protruding section of the steel backspacer can be used as a glass breaker. On the back of the Handle there is a hole for interweaving a safety or decorative cord. The whole is completed by a massive clip, also made of titanium, of course.
Included is a Peli-type waterproof case for storing and carrying the knife.
