This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
MSI S/E Tan Frag G10, Black folding knife that combines strength, durability and elegance. Its blade is made of excellent M390MK steel , which is the result of cooperation between two renowned companies - Microtech and Böhler. This steel is known for its exceptional strength and long sharpness retention, making this knife unafraid of any challenge. The intuitive RAM-Lok ensures safety during use. This innovative lock is easy to operate and provides ease of use for both right and left-handed people. Handle of the knife is made of G10 composite , durable and ergonomic. Its shape is designed to fit perfectly in the hand, ensuring comfort even during prolonged use. This knife is not only a tool, but also a work of applied art. Its designer, Anthony Marfione, founder and owner of Microtech, has taken care of every detail. From the elegant black finish to the satin details, this knife is both beautiful and practical. Whether you're looking for a reliable tool or an elegant accessory, MSI (Microtech Standard Issue) knife will meet your needs.
M390MK - thanks to a collaboration between Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel to provide better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Ram-Lok™ (Crossbar Lock) - a transverse bar that moves horizontally within longitudinal cutouts in the steel liners of the handle’s frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar engages the rear portion of the blade from above, preventing it from returning to the closed position. The bar is pressed forward by two springs. Unlocking occurs by pulling the bar backward; its ends are accessible through cutouts in the handle scales on both sides. In the closed position, the bar presses against the cam surface at the rear of the blade, preventing accidental opening. The advantages of the Ram-Lok mechanism include high resistance to dirt and debris, practical immunity to dynamic loads, easy operation with either hand, and smooth, lightweight action.
Blade – a machine-ground S/E (Single Edge) Sheepfoot profile, sharpened on one side. The durability of the blade surface is enhanced by a non-reflective, matte nanocomposite Black Finished coating, which provides exceptional hardness, low friction, and excellent corrosion resistance. The blade opens via a thumb hole, making it easy to operate for both right- and left-handed users. The blade is ground with a high Flat Grind, providing excellent edge geometry and outstanding cutting performance. To ensure full control over the blade, upper jimping - a textured thumb rest—has been added to the spine. The entire mechanism is securely locked with the convenient and reliable Ram-Lok system.
Handle – crafted with the highest precision on CNC machines from G10 composite. For improved grip, the handle surface features Microtech’s distinctive Frag Pattern, imitating the texture of a fragmentation grenade. The wide lock slider with Microtech’s signature stepped texture (X Button) ensures secure and comfortable operation. The handle scales are connected with a solid aluminum backspacer. The dual-position (right / left) clip allows for discreet tip-up carry. Above the clip is a lanyard hole, suitable for attaching a safety or decorative lanyard.
