CPM Cru-Wear - premium high-carbon air-hardening tool steel with a hardness of 60-65 HRC. Produced by US Crucible Industries according to the CPM (Crucible Particle Metallurgy) process as an improvement on the manufacturer's conventional Cru-Wear and D2 steels. Produced according to the CPM process, it is more resistant to chipping and cracking than most conventionally manufactured tool steels. It is not a stainless steel; to qualify as a stainless steel, it must contain at least 12% chromium. CruWear contains 7.5% chromium, but still offers a fair level of corrosion resistance. It contains a high content of 1.1% carbon, 7.5% chromium, 1.6% molybdenum, 2.48% vanadium and 1.15% tungsten, providing a balance for key properties: hardness, impact strength, edge retention, machinability, wear resistance and easy sharpening. It's not easy to find a steel that performs so well in so many categories.
SpyderEdge - (Spyderco patent) new serrated Spyder blade with improved edge geometry, consists of alternating one large and two small teeth known as two-step. This pattern increases the length of the cutting edge by up to 24% compared to a straight blade. Ideal for cutting hard materials, plastics and fibrous materials such as rope, belts, among others.
Blade - Leaf-Shaped type (leaf shape), finished with elegant satin finish. The SpyderEdge serrated blade is derived with a Full Flat Grind, which gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. At the top, a SpyderHole branded with the manufacturer's trademark hole. Notched thumb ramp on the back of the Blade increase the control of the knife.
Handle - in gray color. Non-slip texturing and recesses on both sides of the Handle strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon, lightweight composite material, insensitive to weather, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. In the back of the Handle a hole (lanyard hole ) for the cord.
Sheath - made of Boltaron®, holsters and cases made of it are characterized by resistance to scratches and chemicals. Equipped with a multi-position G-Clip handle with two adjusting screws, which allows carrying on a belt or on a weapon's armor in six different positions.
