14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by Swedish Sandvik steel mills. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the wide blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the wedge and the flat grind give excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The long hole in the wedge serves to reduce weight. A notched section of the back of the head, the spine jimping ramp positions the thumb, giving solid support, making it easier to operate the knife.
