D2 - high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 58-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade - Wharncliffe type, with a striking Two Tone finish, cut finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles, the rest of the blade satin-finished. The straight edge converges toward the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. We can also open the knife using a hole in the wedge. A section of the back of the wedge is covered with an upper jimping, a notched thumb rest for easy control of the knife. The whole is locked with the proven and popular liner lock.
Handle - grips made of G10 composite, practically indestructible plastic insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and texturing of the surface improves grip security. The backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. The single-position, right-side deep carry clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward. The protruding section of the backspacer can be used as an improvised glass breaker and includes a hole for a safety or decorative cord.
