Sleipner - a versatile high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance with a balanced alloy composition: chromium content of 7.8% (Cr), 0.9% carbon (C), molybdenum 2.5% (Mo) and vanadium 0.5% (V). It achieves a high hardness of 60-62 HRC. Manufactured at Uddeholm steel plant.
Double Detent Slip-Joint - a “no lock” non-locking mechanism used in folders in which the wedge is held open by spring pressure on a flat section at the back of the blade shank during use. TheSlip Joint holds the blade in both the folded and unfolded positions. When folded, it generates a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional locking mechanism. To avoid accidental opening during carrying, the blade is held in the closed position by two Double Detent steel balls, one on each side of the blade.
Blade - Drop Point type, finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles. The pronounced belly extends the length of the cutting edge relative to the length of the blade converging toward the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The small thickness combined with the high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting qualities and the long bore grain increases the strength of the blade. Ball bearings support the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a notch in the blade (nail nick). The notch ends with a fluorescent dot made of Swiss Superluminova material making it easier to find the knife in the dark. The whole is locked by the Double Detent Slip-Joint system accepted by many countries with restrictions on the right to carry a knife.
Handle - is two pieces of 6061-T6 aluminum. The so-called open-backed mocated with steel spacer sleeves reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. Simple, secure design gives you the assurance of many years of use. Two-position left/right wire clip deep carry allows you to carry the knife in tip-up position (tip up).
