Regardless of whether you are a special forces operator or a regular user, this knife will certainly meet your expectations.
SOCOM Line - Microtech Socom line takes its name from the United States Special Operations Command, SOCOM for short. SOCOM is the operational command of the United States Department of Defense responsible for special operations. Under its supervision are units such as the Navy SEALs, Air Force PJs, Army Rangers and others. A knife that uses such a name must be characterized by professionalism, and the Microtech Socom series absolutely does that. They are very solid, made of the highest quality materials and can withstand all the rigors of the battlefield. They may be an investment, but they are built to survive anything. Whether you choose the Alpha, Bravo or Elite series, you know you are buying the best tool on the market. And its legendary reliability has made it the first choice for the special operations community.
M390 - martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by an extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to the high wear resistance, the shape of the edge is properly maintained, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is the resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.9% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - wide, machine-ground in a T/E (Tanto Edge) style, sharpened on one side. Finished using the Stonewashed method, which gives the blade a slightly aged, satin-matte appearance and effectively conceals minor scratches and signs of use. The expansive belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip. The solid thickness of the blade combined with a high flat grind gives excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. The knife can be opened with a dual thumb stud in the wedge (dual thumb stud). To maintain full control of the blade, there is a notched thumb rest on the back of the upper jimping wedge. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular liner lock.
Handle - made with perfect precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines from Mil-Spec coated aluminum 6061-T6. Perfectly fitted inlays (inlay) made of special 3M Traction Tape material with sandpaper texture make the knife does not slip in the hand during use. On the back of the Handle there are notches (jimping) for a more secure grip. The ergonomic profile and milled single-position (right) solid clip, allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down position (blade tip down). In the back there is a lanyard hole, a place for a safety or decorative cord. The Handle is finished with glass breaker.
