Hera 2 Mini Bayonet Turquoise Aluminum, Stonewashed A compact version of one of the best and most versatile OTF (Out The Front) automatic knives. Modeled on the iconic Troodon, it is an intermediate link between EDC and tactical models. This automatic knife with above-average durability works in D/A (Double Action) mode, utilizing a powerful opening mechanism. This model is characterized by excellent fit and finish. Designed by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.
Hera Series – OTF tactical automatic knives that perfectly combine utility and aesthetics. Knives with D/E and SE blades and handles made of anodized aircraft-grade aluminum. A unique feature of the Hera automatic knives is the milled titanium pocket clip with a smooth rollerball, which allows the knife to easily fit into any pocket.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel has been created, made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more precise control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by an extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to the high wear resistance, the shape of the edge is properly maintained, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is the resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine-ground Bayonet type, finished with a Stonewashed method to mask fine scratches caused during use. The blade has a high flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting properties with a central grain. This gives the knife excellent piercing properties while maintaining high durability. The strong blade extension / retraction mechanism with a knurled thumb slide requires a certain amount of force to overcome the spring resistance for safety reasons. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle - made with high precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from sand-blasted anodized aluminum 6061-T6. The surface texture of the handle ensures that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. The handle has jimping on the back and bottom for a secure grip. Slim profile and two-position (right/left) pocket clip milled from titanium, allowing the knife to be carried in a tip-down position. Equipped with a smooth rollerball, thanks to which the knife easily slides into a pocket without damaging the edges.
