Nitro-V is a stainless martensitic chromium-based knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the already existing AEB-L high-performance knife steel and improved it with nitrogen and vanadium to enhance edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially crucial in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives because of its resistance to staining and corrosion. The recommended working hardness is in the range of 58-62HRC, and it has very good impact strength compared to other steels. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V is well suited for knives that require good durability.

Crossbar Lock - a horizontal crossbar that moves in longitudinal notches in the steel side plates of the handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar overlaps the back of the blade from above, preventing it from moving back. This bar is pressed down by two springs. Unlocking is done by pulling back the locking bar, the ends of which are accessible through the notches in the grips on the sides of the handle. In the closed position, the bar presses on the cam surface at the back of the blade, preventing it from opening by itself. Advantages of the Crossbar Lock: resistant to dirt, practically insensitive to dynamic loads, easy to use with either the right or left hand, and light to operate.

Blade: modified Reverse Tanto blade. Finished with an elegant satin finish. The wide blade tapers towards a needle-sharp tip. The slim blade in combination with the high, flat grind (Flat Grind) results in a perfect cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support opening of the blade with the pin in the handle. The whole is locked with the intuitive Crossbar Lock.

Handle - made of G10 composite, a virtually indestructible material, insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. Beveled edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges, and the rough texture and surface patterning increase grip comfort and confidence. The open-backed design, which is attached with steel spacer sleeves, reduces weight and makes cleaning easier. The pivot axis is decorated with the stylized Civivi logo. The two-position, right/left-handed deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in a tip-up position (with the tip of the blade facing upwards).

Case - a zippered soft nylon pouch with the manufacturer's logo is included for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
