420 martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the 54-56 HRC range as well as strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for manufacturing cutting tools, knife blades and medical instruments.

Blade - wharncliffe profile is characterized by a straight cutting edge line and a gently sloping back. This geometry promotes precise, controlled cutting and is especially practical when working with materials that require a stable blade path. The flat grind gives the wedge a thin, utilitarian geometry, reducing resistance when cutting through.
