This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
The Yojimbo 2 Cobalt Blue G10, Satin is an advanced EDC folder designed by Michael Janich, self-defense specialist and creator of the Martial Blade Concepts system. Its design was based on the idea of maximum blade control, both in utility and tactical applications. The knife's distinctive line was developed for a natural grip with the thumb extended, which allows precise guiding of the blade and effective operation even in dynamic conditions. Blade is made of CPM SPY27 steel, developed specifically for the Spyderco brand. Its chemical composition provides high corrosion resistance, edge stability and excellent sharpness retention. The blade with Wharncliffe profile and hollow grind guarantees maximum penetration and precision with minimal cutting resistance. The satin surface finish supports the aesthetics and usable practicality of the blade. The Handle is made of G10 composite in Cobalt Blue, and its peel-ply texture ensures a high level of grip in any situation. Steel liners, Compression Lock and a four-position retaining clip make this model a right- and left-handed ready tool. The Yojimbo 2 is a model designed for full functionality - both in tactical applications and precision cutting in everyday EDC.
CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. The high-alloy stainless steel contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Thanks to its properties, the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. It is easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains a high admixture of 14% chromium. It provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy(CPM) method. The CPM process produces a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) Spyderco 's (made in USA) patented blade locking mechanism. Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the Handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding Blade.
Blade - made of advanced CPM SPY27 powder steel, developed by Crucible exclusively for the Spyderco brand. This material offers high corrosion resistance, excellent abrasive properties and edge durability, making it ideal for heavy-duty utility tools. The blade has a Wharncliffe profile, which, combined with a straight cutting edge line and an aggressive tip, allows for maximum control when making cuts. The hollow grind (concave) improves working sharpness and reduces material resistance when cutting, while the satin finish reduces light reflections and makes it easier to keep the surface clean. Unfolding the knife is made possible by the classic Spyderhole, allowing quick and intuitive opening with one hand. The entire design has been subordinated to efficiency in operation and precise handling, making the Blade of the C85GPCBL2 model ideal for tactical applications and precision EDC tasks.
Handle - made of G10 laminate in distinctive Cobalt Blue color reserved for knives with CPM SPY27 blade. Textured peel-ply surface provides high grip even with wet hands or gloves. The profile of the handle has been tailored to fit the anatomical position of the fingers - with a pronounced recess for the index finger - which translates into maximum control and stability during cuts. Inside, steel liners are used , partially relieved, which allows to maintain the rigidity of the structure at a moderate weight. The Compression Lock - a mechanism valued for its reliability and simplicity of one-handed operation - is responsible for security. The whole is complemented by a steel four-position clip, allowing mounting in Tip-Up or Tip-Down configuration - for both right- and left-handed users. Handle design of the Yojimbo 2 model combines ergonomics, material durability and functionality, providing full support in work.
