Jason Knight is a recognized master knife smith (Master Bladesmith), having earned his title in the American Bladesmith Society, and his craftsmanship is confirmed by the prestigious B.R. Hughes award given to the best candidates for this title. He began his career in a workshop in East Tennessee, where he continues to create knives of distinctive form, relying on traditional forging techniques and precision hardening. His designs are distinguished by their raw aesthetics, perfect control of steel structure and time-tested functionality. M390 - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC, vacuum and cryogenic treatment and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
