M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel for better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade – machined T/E (Tanto Edge), single-edged. Finished in Midnight Tiger Camo, inspired by the tiger stripe pattern in a matte, dark black color, giving a tactical appearance while reducing light reflections and increasing scratch resistance. The solid blade thickness combined with a high flat grind provides excellent cutting performance while maintaining high strength. The knife can be opened using the dual thumb stud mounted on both sides of the blade. To ensure full control over the blade, upper jimping, a textured thumb rest—has been added to the spine. The blade is secured with the proven and well-regarded Liner Lock.
Handle – crafted with the highest precision using 3D CNC machining from 6061-T6 aluminum coated with a black Midnight Tiger Camo finish. Perfectly fitted inlays made of special 3M Traction Tape, with a texture resembling sandpaper, ensure a secure grip and prevent the knife from slipping during use. The spine of the handle features jimping for enhanced control. The ergonomic profile and machined, single-position (right-side) sturdy clip allow discreet pocket carry in the tip-down position. A lanyard hole is located at the rear for a safety or decorative cord. The handle is finished with a glass breaker.
