Now this advanced, extremely popular ultralight folder is made in a 15% reduced version. Handle made of G10 composite in elite Brown, reserved for Spyderco knives with Blade made of CPM 15V steel. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).
CPM 15V - the most vanadium-containing 14.50% (V), wear-resistant stainless tool steel with 5.25% chromium (Cr), 3.40% carbon (C) and 1.30% molybdenum (Mo). Its high vanadium content (it contains 50% more hard vanadium carbides in its microstructure than CPM 10V) promotes the formation of hard vanadium carbides for strength and exceptional wear resistance, and increases corrosion resistance. This unique steel is designed for the production of high-grade blades requiring exceptional toughness and knife wedges where longer life is desired. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the Particle Metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) Spyderco 's (made in USA) patented blade locking mechanism. Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the Handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding Blade.
Blade - with Leaf-Shaped profile (leaf shape) provides a long, gently curved cutting edge. The Plain blade was derived with a weight-reducing Full Flat Grind (Full Flat Grind). Blade was subjected to a specialized heat treatment protocol which was developed by the well-known American knifemaker, Shawn Houston. The result is a blade that offers extreme sharpness and unparalleled edge durability. SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent) to open the knife. The proven Compression Lock protects the blade from accidental opening or closing. Upper Jimping, (a notched thumb rest on the back of the blade, and Index Finger Choil (a notched profiled undercut for the index finger between the Handle and the cutting edge), make the knife easier to operate.
Handle - profiled, covered with non-slip textured grips made of durable, heat- and cold-resistant, chemical-resistant G-10 plastic in Brown. Handle, despite its compact size, provides full grip and excellent control, with four fingers as in full-size folders. Metal clip with the possibility of fixing in two planes (top, right/left).
