The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Nemesis Gen IV D/E Marfione Select Black Aluminum, Stonewashed is a design that represents the highest level of Microtech craftsmanship within the prestigious Marfione Select line. Created by Tony Marfione, this model leaves no room for compromise - it is a single-action OTF automatic knife that combines raw form with exceptional attention to detail. Designed as a tool with high performance and unambiguous function, the Nemesis impresses with both form and engineering-grade mechanics. In its fourth generation, the design has been improved both in terms of ergonomics and precision fit. The milled aluminum Handle, optimized for grip and balance, houses the Single Action OTF mechanism inside. Combined with a blade made of M390MK steel , optimized for sharpness retention and resistance to dynamic loads, this creates a design that clearly exceeds the limits of ordinary EDC. The Nemesis model doesn't pretend to be an all-purpose knife - it's a design with a clearly defined identity, technical aesthetics and a purpose for users who are looking for equipment with superior reliability and conscious form. Collectible yet completely functional, this knife combines prestige, technology and Microtech philosophy in one cohesive design.
Single-Action system in automatic knives (mainly OTF type) uses spring energy only to rapidly extend the blade. When the button is pressed, the lock is released and the blade instantly locks into the open position. Reassembling the knife requires the user to manually pull the spring with a lever, which prepares the mechanism for the next use. Thanks to its simpler design, the system offers much greater opening force and better structural rigidity than two-way models.
Marfione Select is an exclusive line of knives, combining Microtech innovation with the artisanal precision characteristic of custom knives. Created under the guidance of Anthony Marfione, each knife in the series features unique materials, finishes and the utmost attention to detail. These knives are not only tools, but also works of art, valued by collectors and knife enthusiasts around the world.
M390MK - thanks to a collaboration between Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel for better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - with a symmetrical Double Edge (D/E) profile was designed for cutting, high penetration and full functionality regardless of the knife's position. A central reinforcing rib increases the rigidity of the entire structure, and the precise geometry supports efficiency in both utility and tactical contexts. Blade uses M390MK steel - a proprietary powder steel variety developed for Microtech, offering excellent sharpness retention, high wear resistance and edge stability under heavy use. The stonewashed finish reduces the visibility of scratches and maintains the clean, technical appearance of the blade even with prolonged use. Additional relief milling and finish details confirm the quality and advanced machining for which the Marfione Select line is known . The blade doesn't just look aggressive - it works aggressively, offering instant readiness thanks to its single-action mechanism and optimized geometry.
Handle - made of aircraft-grade aluminum, CNC-machined, provides a rigid and lightweight base for the entire design. Its simple geometry and finger undercuts provide a secure, predictable grip - both in operation and in handling the mechanism. The lack of excessive texture promotes quick handling of the knife without loss of control. The centerpiece of the design is the blade extension slide, which has been placed in the axis of the knife and contoured to allow intuitive one-handed operation while maintaining safety. The single-action OTF mechanism operates with a perceptible resistance, emphasizing the spring force and high culture of the system. The Nemesis Gen IV Handle is not just a structure that supports the blade - it's a thoughtful design component that combines ergonomics, industrial aesthetics and technical reliability into an unambiguous, consistent design.
