CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade's surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - Plain smooth blade brought out with a Full Flat Grind. SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent) for ambidextrous thumb opening. The fine-tuned, precision-machined Ball Bearing-Lock blade locking mechanism guarantees extremely smooth operation. The notched thumb rest (upper jimping) on the back of the blade and the Finger Choil (an undercut for the index finger between the Handle and the cutting edge) make it easier to control the knife.
Handle - made of G-10 composite (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures, chemicals) bolted to steel liners using torx screws. The surface of the grips was finished with a Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture pattern reserved for the Salt series . The folder is equipped with a screw-on metal clip with 2-way clip positions (top, right/left). In the back of the grip, an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or safety line.
