A unique feature of the Hera series is the precision-milled titanium pocket clip, equipped with a smooth rollerball that allows the knife to slide into any pocket with exceptional ease and smoothness.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation between Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel has been created, made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more precise control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance, and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by exceptionally high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape, which means that the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine ground, with a Bayonet profile. Finished with an Apocalyptic patina, which gives the blade a slightly aged, matte appearance and effectively masks minor scratches and marks caused during use. The blade has a high flat grind with a central fuller, which ensures excellent cutting properties while maintaining high durability. This design also significantly improves the piercing ability. The powerful blade extension and retraction mechanism is operated by a knurled Thumb Slide - a stepped slider under the thumb, which requires significant force to overcome the spring resistance for safe use. This mechanism allows for reliable and convenient blade opening for both right- and left-handed users.
Handle - made with the highest precision using 3D technology on CNC milling machines from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The stepped surface texture ensures a secure grip and prevents the knife from slipping in your hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for even better control. The slim profile of the handle and the titanium-milled, two-position (right/left) pocket clip allow the knife to be carried in a tip-down position. The clip is equipped with a smooth rollerball, which allows the knife to slide into the pocket easily and smoothly without damaging the edges of the pocket.
