14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelmaker Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination of elements, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.

Blade - reverse tanto style, finished with a Beadblasted method that masks scratches and prevents glare. The long cutting edge, with a pronounced bevel, tapers toward the needle-sharp tip of the wide blade. Blade thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind guarantees excellent cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth and seamless operation of the mechanism and assist in opening the blade using a quick index-finger flipper after opening the crossguard. On the spine of the blade, upper jimping provides a textured thumb rest. Liner-Lock mechanism.

Handle - Micarta grips (fabric pressed under pressure with synthetic resin). Textured for improved grip, screwed to the steel knife frame. The so-called open-backed construction without a typical backspacer, secured together with steel spacer sleeves, facilitates cleaning. The simple, solid construction ensures many years of reliable use. The two-position (right/left) steel deep carry clip allows for discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket in the tip-up position (blade tip facing upward). Above the clip is a lanyard hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
