AUS-10, manufactured at the Takefu Special Steel Corporation steelworks based in Fukui, Japan, is a high-carbon stainless steel rich in vanadium 0.3% (V), molybdenum 1.20% (Mo), and cobalt 1.5% (Co). A balanced combination of high carbon content 1.05% (C) and chromium 15.50% (Cr) results in stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance, high hardness (hardened to around 60 HRC), and the ability to hold an edge for a long time. As a result, the knife can be easily sharpened, ensuring a razor-sharp edge.

Vacuum & Cryogenic - AUS-10 steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, AUS-10 steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.

Blade - sheepfoot style, bead-blasted to mask minor scratches that occur during use. The long cutting edge tapers toward a needle-sharp tip. The blade thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind guarantees excellent cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the blade-opening mechanism, which can be opened using a quick index-finger flipper. Once opened, the flipper forms a mini-Guard to prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade. The knife can also be opened using a hole milled into the blade. To improve control over the blade, the blade spine is covered with upper jimping, a serrated thumb rest. The entire assembly is locked by the proven Liner-Lock.

Handle grips - grips made of G10 composite, a virtually indestructible material that is weather-resistant, chemical-resistant, and resistant to mechanical damage, textured to improve grip, are screwed to the steel frame of the knife. A solid backspacer to which the grips are attached ensures the rigidity and durability of the entire construction. A deep finger groove improves grip security. A single-position (right-side) titanium deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in the tip-up position (blade tip facing up).
