14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen at 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly enhanced. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!

Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment involves hardening the steel in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.

Blackwashed - a blade finishing method that combines two techniques. Black Coating - a protective, non-reflective black coating. Stonewashed - after the coating is applied, the blade undergoes a process that gives it a slightly aged, satin-matte appearance and effectively masks minor scratches and marks resulting from use. The final result is a unique, aged look with a matte, dark finish that is both stylish and practical. It is a more aesthetic variant of the classic black stonewashed finish.

Blade - classic Drop Point style, finished with the Blackwashed method to conceal minor scratches caused by use. The blade thickness, combined with a flat grind, provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth and seamless operation of the mechanism and assist in opening the blade via the blade hole or the flipper, which, when open, acts as a mini guard to prevent the hand from sliding onto the blade. On the blade spine, there is upper jimping, a serrated thumb rest. The locking mechanism is a durable Liner Lock.

Handle - contoured scales made of 6AL4V titanium, micro-milled with a fine texture. The entire assembly is bolted to a solid backspacer, also made of titanium. The simple, robust construction ensures many years of reliable use. The pivot pin is adorned with a titanium cap (Pivot Cap) in a contrasting color. A two-position (right/left) titanium deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in the tip-up position (blade tip facing up). The fore finger groove improves grip and creates a mini-guard, preventing your hand from slipping onto the blade.
