14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelmaker Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination of elements, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!

Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.

Blackwashed - a blade finishing method that combines two techniques. Black Coating - a protective, non-reflective black coating. Stonewashed - after the coating is applied, the blade undergoes a process that gives it a slightly aged, satin-matte appearance and effectively masks minor scratches and marks caused by use. The final result is a unique, aged look with a matte, dark finish that is both stylish and practical. It is a more aesthetic variant of the classic black stonewashed.

Blade—featuring a drop point profile, which is among the most practical and versatile geometries used in utility knives. The gently sloping spine line leads to a solid, well-controlled tip, which translates to high precision while maintaining adequate tip strength. The flat grind ensures excellent material penetration and smooth cutting. This type of geometry handles cardboard, ropes, leather, and light camping tasks well, offering a very good compromise between durability and cutting edge efficiency. The blackwashed finish gives the blade a more technical, slightly tactical character and effectively masks minor signs of wear. Additionally, the thumb milled groove visible on the spine improves grip control during precision work.

Handle—made of G10, a material widely used in utility and premium knives due to its high mechanical resistance, resistance to moisture, and excellent stability in various environmental conditions. Ergonomic shaping with a cutout for the index finger and a subtly pronounced curve of the grip. This geometry improves the knife’s handling and increases control, especially during precision work and cutting with greater pressure. The surface of the scales features a fine texture that improves hand grip without being overly aggressive. As a result, this model performs well in both dry conditions and when working with gloves. A key component of the set is the Kydex sheath equipped with a Tek-Lok. This solution allows for quick attachment to a belt, backpack, or gear, significantly enhancing the knife’s functionality as an EDC and outdoor tool.
