- TLB I Brown Micarta, Beadblasted by Alessandra De Santis, a compact fixed-blade knife with a full-tang construction designed for EDC and outdoor use, featuring a drop-point blade of 14C28N steel, a Micarta handle, and a Kydex sheath with a Tek-Lok.
74,76 €TLB I Brown Micarta, Beadblasted is a refined fixed-blade knife designed for users seeking maximum reliability in a compact EDC format. Designed by Alessandra De Santis of Hydra Design, it combines modern aesthetics with a distinctly utilitarian character—the model’s lines alone demonstrate that ergonomics, quick deployment, and full control during everyday tasks were the top priorities. The full tang construction forms the foundation of the entire model. The full tang running through the entire handle ensures high rigidity and load-bearing capacity, making the TLB I equally suitable as an urban fixed-blade knife and a lightweight outdoor tool. Combined with its compact profile, this results in a knife that can be comfortably carried every day without compromising on durability. The 14C28N steel is responsible for the knife’s performance, valued for its excellent corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and ability to maintain a sharp edge during intensive use. The drop point profile, combined with a flat grind, gives the model an exceptionally versatile character—from everyday utility cuts, through precision work, to light outdoor tasks. The set is complemented by a Kydex sheath with the Tek-Lok system, which significantly increases the set’s portability and allows you to comfortably carry the knife on a belt or gear.
Kubey — an independent brand and one of the largest manufacturers producing top-quality knives at a great price! The company’s motto is “An Edge Above the Rest” / “The blade above all.” Thanks to the use of high-speed CNC machines, milling machines, laser cutting, and custom hand finishing, the brand focuses on high-quality craftsmanship and an innovative approach to design. Kubey stands for legendary durability and functionality in cutting tools that will serve you for years!
14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelmaker Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination of elements, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!
Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.
Blade—featuring a drop point profile, which is among the most practical and versatile geometries used in utility knives. The gently sloping spine line leads to a solid, well-controlled tip, resulting in high precision while maintaining adequate tip strength. The flat grind ensures excellent material penetration and smooth cutting. This type of geometry handles cardboard, ropes, leather, and light camping tasks well, offering a very good compromise between durability and cutting edge efficiency. The beadblasted finish gives the blade a more technical, slightly tactical character and effectively masks minor signs of wear. Additionally, the thumb groove visible on the spine improves grip control during precision work.
Handle—made of Micarta, a material widely used in utility and premium knives due to its high mechanical resistance, resistance to moisture, and excellent stability in various environmental conditions.
Ergonomic shaping with a cutout for the index finger and a subtly pronounced curve of the grip. This geometry improves the knife’s handling and increases control, especially during precision work and cutting with greater pressure. The surface of the scales features a fine texture that improves hand grip without being overly aggressive. As a result, this model performs well in both dry conditions and when working with gloves. A key component of the set is the Kydex sheath equipped with a Tek-Lok. This solution allows for quick attachment to a belt, backpack, or gear, significantly enhancing the knife’s functionality as an EDC and outdoor tool. The TLB I is a very well-balanced fixed blade—compact, durable, and designed with a clear emphasis on practical usability.
