44,83 €This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
TBO Black Micarta, Blackwashed is a refined utility folder designed by Johan Jordan, combining modern EDC functionality with a distinctly outdoor character. At first glance, the model catches the eye with its slim, elongated silhouette and very well-balanced proportions between the handle and the blade, which directly translates to comfort during everyday use. The design was developed as a versatile tool for field work and everyday tasks. The clip point blade profile ensures excellent control during precise cuts, while the appropriately shaped spine effectively supports more rugged applications. The use of Sandvik 14C28N steel guarantees a favorable combination of corrosion resistance, stable edge retention, and ease of resharpening, making this model exceptionally practical for regular use. The Micarta composite handle significantly enhances comfort; thanks to its texture, it ensures a secure grip even in challenging conditions—such as humidity, cold, or prolonged use. The crossbar lock mechanism, combined with the blade hole, allows for quick, smooth one-handed opening and convenient folding of the knife without having to change your grip. The TBO is a model for users looking for a practical, modern, and reliable knife—both as an EDC folder and a versatile outdoor tool.
14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination of elements, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly enhanced. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!
Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.
Blackwashed - a blade finishing method that combines two techniques. Black Coating - a protective, non-reflective black coating. Stonewashed - after the coating is applied, the blade undergoes a process that gives it a slightly aged, satin-matte appearance and effectively masks minor scratches and marks caused by use. The final result is a unique, aged look with a matte, dark finish that is both stylish and practical. It is a more aesthetic variant of the classic black stonewashed.
Blade—featuring a clip point profile, which works very well in everyday carry knives and light outdoor applications. The characteristically lowered spine line leads to a precise, well-controlled tip, which increases effectiveness during tasks requiring accuracy, such as scoring, precision cuts, or more technical utility operations. The flat grind ensures smooth blade glide through materials and high cutting performance. This type of geometry works particularly well for everyday EDC tasks—from cardboard and ropes to textiles and light outdoor work. Thanks to its favorable working geometry, the knife offers a clean, predictable cut and good control. The blackwashed finish gives the blade a more technical, slightly tactical character, while effectively masking minor signs of daily use. Safety is ensured by the crossbar lock, which provides stable blade locking and comfortable folding without the fingers interfering with the blade’s path.
Handle - made of Micarta composite, a material particularly valued in utility and outdoor knives. Micarta provides excellent grip, high wear resistance, and a comfortable hold, and over time develops a unique patina. The slim, slightly curved profile of the handle fits naturally in the hand. A subtly contoured finger groove and elongated profile improve control over the knife with both standard and more technical grips. Internal steel liners increase the rigidity of the entire construction, maintaining adequate strength during more intensive use. The included tip-up clip, which can be mounted on either the left or right side, increases the versatility of everyday carry. The combination of ergonomic Micarta, a lightweight construction, and the crossbar lock mechanism makes the TBO a very practical knife—comfortable to carry, quick to use, and well-suited for everyday and outdoor use.
