14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly enhanced. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) – the surface hardness of the blade and cutting edge has been enhanced using a vacuum deposition method applied to deposit thin layers by condensing the vaporized form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The applied coating has very high hardness, which significantly increases the blade’s resistance to rust and abrasive wear.
