14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. Its optimized chemical composition, featuring a unique combination, ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding 0.11% nitrogen (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly enhanced. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) – the surface hardness of the blade and cutting edge has been enhanced using a vacuum deposition method applied to deposit thin layers by condensing the vaporized form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process, such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has very high hardness, which significantly increases the blade’s resistance to rust and abrasive wear.

Blade—featuring a straight back profile, with a straight spine and a very slender, aggressively tapered tip. This geometry provides excellent properties for precision cuts, detailed work, and operations requiring precise control of the blade tip. This profile works great for everyday EDC use—especially when opening packages, working with paper, plastics, tapes, and lightweight materials. The slender tip ensures high penetration and precision, while the extended cutting edge improves the efficiency of continuous cutting. The mixed flat grind used supports smooth entry into the material and improves the cutting properties of the entire edge. A thinner grind near the handle for precise cutting, a thicker grind at the tip for heavier tasks. The black PVD coating finish highlights the clean lines of the blade and the elegant, technical character of the design, harmonizing perfectly with the model’s minimalist silhouette. Safety is ensured by the proven liner lock mechanism, which securely locks the blade in place during use.
