71,65 €This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
ButtonUp Carbon Fiber, Satin doesn’t make a bold statement with an aggressive design, but rather through its lightness, clean lines, and highly refined mechanics. Eric Glesser designed this model as a modern EDC folder for users who expect a tool that is comfortable to carry, quick to use, and free of unnecessary excess. It is a technical knife in function, yet visually disciplined and understated. The 8Cr13MoV blade features a modified clip point profile, offering a slender, well-controlled tip and a useful working edge. Combined with a full-flat grind, this geometry efficiently handles everyday materials and more precise tasks. The satin finish emphasizes the blade’s clean, utilitarian character. Spyderco has combined its signature thumb hole with a button lock, creating a folder with exceptionally smooth manual operation. The Carbon Fiber/G-10 laminate handle ensures low weight and adequate rigidity. The slim profile, subtle taper in the middle, and open back make the knife comfortable in a pocket and fit well in the hand. The ButtonUp is a model for users who are primarily looking for a functional, lightweight, and modernly designed EDC.
8Cr13MoV - easy-to-sharpen, stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. A high chromium (Cr) content of 13.0% and an average carbon (C) content of 0.8% ensure excellent corrosion resistance, while the addition of 0.30% molybdenum (Mo) (Mo), vanadium 0.25% (V), and nickel 0.20% (Ni) increases the steel’s strength and wear resistance. 8Cr13MoV is characterized by high hardness in the range of 57–62 HRC.
Blade - the modified clip point profile gives the blade a distinct, precise tip without sacrificing everyday functionality. This geometry works well for cutting packaging, tape, plastics, and other utility materials where control and precision are essential. The full flat grind is responsible for the knife’s performance, enabling a clean, efficient cut and allowing for better use of the blade’s slender profile. The satin finish maintains a technical aesthetic without excessive austerity. The blade is opened using the distinctive Spyderco thumbhole, and a button lock mechanism provides the locking function. The mechanics are supported by ball bearings, ensuring the blade operates smoothly and with minimal effort.
Handle - The Carbon Fiber/G-10 laminate combines low weight with good rigidity, ensuring the handle remains lightweight without feeling flimsy. Its design is optimized for daily use—a subtle taper in the center and a gently curved grip line promote a natural hand position. Steel microliners have been used in the pivot and lock areas to reinforce the most critical points of the construction without unnecessarily increasing weight. The open rear section facilitates cleaning and enhances the practical nature of the design. Everyday carry is supported by a reversible tip-up clip, mounted on both sides, and a lanyard hole expands configuration options. The ButtonUp handle is designed to fit comfortably in the hand and stay out of the way in a pocket—exactly as a modern EDC knife should.
