CPM MagnaCut – powder-metallurgy stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, hardened to a range of 60.5–62.5 HRC. A high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo), and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees precision and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. Thanks to CPM MagnaCut, we have succeeded in creating a steel that, like no other, combines the exceptional properties of knife steels. Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) a blade locking mechanism patented by Spyderco (made in the USA). Extremely durable, it provides exceptional strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it prevents the knife from closing accidentally. When releasing the lock, your fingers are not in the path of the folding blade.
Blade - featuring a modified Clip Point profile, finished with an elegant satin finish. The smooth Plain edge is ground with a Full Flat Grind, which enhances cutting performance and reduces the knife’s weight. A round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) for opening the knife, even while wearing gloves. A serrated thumb rest, spine jimping, and finger choil jimping, along with a serrated index finger groove between the handle and the cutting edge, facilitate knife use.
Handle - made of G-10 composite (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures and chemicals), bolted to steel liners using Torx screws. The surface of the grips features the Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture pattern, exclusive to the Salt series. The folder is equipped with a screw-on metal clip that can be mounted in four positions (top/bottom, right/left) 4-way clip positions. At the rear of the handle, there is an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for threading a lanyard or safety cord.
